Go digital! Stork prints has the appropriate digital solution for the filmless preparation of every print job. To image RotaPlate screens Stork Prints offers the rotaLEX. The rotaLEN is the best option to engrave RotaMesh screens. For the preparation of rotary screens, flexo, letterpress and dry offset plates the Helios provides outstanding results.

The rotaLEX is a fast and compact laser exposure device, producing predictable high quality RotaPlate screens for narrow web applications. The UV laser beam creates a high definition image in one pass resulting in a perfect registration. Besides consistency the economic rotaLEX eliminates the use of filmpositives, resulting in substantial cost savings.

The only answer to engrave RotaMesh screens is: rotaLEN. The rotaLEN laser removes the ‘all over’ coated emulsion locally to create the image on the RotaMesh screen. Without exposure, washing out and time consuming drying the DLE engraved RotaMesh screens are ready for printing.

The typical hybrid Direct Laser Engraver Helios is suitable for both RotaMesh, flexo, letterpress and dry offset plates. A special laser technology is applied for the Helios. The Helios eliminates the use of both film and solvents for development. After engraving the high quality screens and plates printing can start immediately.

The rotaLEX 6630F is a fast and compact laser exposure device, producing consistently high quality RotaPlate screens for narrow web applications.
The steady UV laser beam creates a high definition image in one pass resulting in a perfect registration. Besides repeatability the economic rotaLEX eliminates the use of filmpositives, resulting in substantial cost savings.

The device is compatible with the complete standard RotaPlate range. It produces images on RotaPlate with ultra fine text and linework to Braille applications. The RotaLEX does not require the costly screen plates coated with a black mask.

The multibeam laser allows a fast exposure. For example a 555mm with RotaPlate screen requires an exposure time of max. 14 minutes.

The system can easily be integrated into your existing workflow. The user-friendly table-top system is Windows Vista based. The software is compatible with a number of formats, including PDF providing elimination of uncertain conversions.
The raster is adjustable ‘on the fly’.

Helios: hybrid Direct Laser Engraver for narrow web

Stork Prints has over 20 years experience in laser technology.
Using this specific knowledge a range of Direct Laser Engraving (DLE) systems has been developed. This digital system is key for a predictable high quality, fast and filmless imaging of different image carriers.

The Helios is a typical hybrid DLE since this laser is suitable for RotaMesh screens and flexo, letterpress and dry offset plates. Therefore a different laser technology is applied for the Helios. Similar to the rotaLEN the Helios eliminates any film exposure and film related process steps. After engraving the high quality plate printing can start immediately. The Helios also accepts both plates and plate-on-sleeve to optimize press up-time. To maximize flexibility the Helios is also suitable for OptiFLEX sleeves.

Typical applications for the Helios are: label printing, can printing, security applications (as banknote printing).

Short run digital label printing with DSI

Label printers today face run lengths that are continuously getting shorter. Nowadays approximately 35% of the production jobs are less than 25.000 labels. Instead of manufacturing those jobs on a sophisticated label press, digital printing is the most efficient way to process the labels.

Using 20 years experience and knowledge in print heads, ink handling and workflow management Stork Prints has developed DSI, the Digital System Integration.
DSI is the answer to current market trends and CMYK inkjet competences. The 360 dpi printed image quality is comparable with flexo.

The compact modular semi-rotary machine design results in minimum web content for optimal short-run conditions. The different modules may consist of rotary screen (for opaque white or braille), flexo (for varnish), foiling and die-cutting. The inkjet modules print on both regular and pre-treated narrow web label stock with a speed of 35m/min.

The DSI software allows valuable time-saving on-the-fly job changes. Available on board is a direct interface to Esko Artwork workflow.
